The Port of Brownsville is the economic engine for the RGV.
It is an emerging and growing maritime port positioned to be one of the top 25 ports in the United States in the coming decade. The port is the largest industrial employer with over 5,000 direct jobs and is expected to double the number of jobs in the next five years.
The Port Commissioners set the policies that affect the port’s operations and have the final authority over all fiscal matters. I have the knowledge and experience to affect policy and decisions that are in the best interests of the port and the community. The port has succeeded by being prudent and strategic in growing its infrastructure. I am a collaborator willing to work with others to achieve common goals and solutions. I have no self-serving interests in the port. I have no personal stake in the port. While the port has achieved unparalleled success over the last 16 years, this is not the time to rest on its laurels. The work necessary to take advantage of the port’s current success and achieve its potential is now. The work is just beginning, and I want to see it continue. I am the person for the task.
