When I arrived at the Port of Brownsville in 2007, the Port was experiencing one of the most difficult times in its history.
The failed bridge project had fractured the community’s confidence in the Port. I set out to accomplish three (3) goals.
- Restore the community’s confidence in the port.
- To ensure that there would be no major controversies that would damage the Port’s reputation.
- Build the Port’s brand as a major economic powerhouse in the RGV and beyond.
I accomplished all three goals, but the work doesn’t end there.
